Engineering Director Jörg Zander

CONNOVA hired Sauber Motorsport's former Technical Director, Jörg Zander, as Engineering Director and Member of the Executive Committee.

Jörg Zander went through an impressive international engineering career. After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Cologne, he started in a project engineering role at Toyota Motorsport in 1991. This was followed by positions as race engineer for Hans Joachim Stuck in the ITC Opel Team Rosberg and Head of Mechanical Engineering at Toyota, in 2002 he joined the British BAR Honda F1 team as Chief Engineer «Mechanical & Transmission». In 2005, he moved to the English Williams F1 Team as Chief Designer. When BMW quit Williams as engine partner, Zander followed the newly formed Swiss based BMW Sauber F1 team where he took the Chief Designer post. Before joining Audi Sport as Technical Director, Zander took the Deputy Technical Director position of the Honda Racing F1 & Brawn GP Racing F1 Team and most recently served as Technical Director at Sauber Motorsport in Hinwil. Jon Andri Jörg, CEO of CONNOVA: "Jörg Zander is an ideal match for our core business. We develop high-tech components for the highest demands in a very dynamic market environment. This forces a level of innovation and flexibility. In order to meet our customers differentiation requirements, we need to understand customer applications in detail in order to explore new ways and define distinct solutions. Zander embodies this credo very well and contributes with his vast engineering experience and the necessary "F1 Speed" approach into our team. Jörg Zander starts his activity on 1 January 2019.
