Villmergen\/Zurich, 29 June 2023:<\/em><\/strong> Connova Group is pleased to confirm its selection as key supplier for Dufour Aerospace’s Aero2 composite airframe. The most important components of the airframe – main wing, fuselage and engine bay – are manufactured at the Connova AG production site in Villmergen (Aargau), Switzerland.<\/p>
The lightweight cell, which is made entirely of composite materials, is a key element in the outstanding performance of the Aero2. The Connova Group’s role in this project is therefore of central importance and consolidates an important partnership with the Aero2 programme. This collaboration is set to last for many years and will extend beyond the first four vehicles that are already under contract.<\/p>
Discussions are already underway to increase the contract value in 2024 with a higher delivery volume than originally planned, underlining the importance of this project for Connova Group’s future growth and success.<\/p>
The Connova Group’s many years of experience in the development and production of sophisticated structural components made of composite materials for customers such as the Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus is what makes the Connova Group so valuable for the programme. The Swiss-based production will ultimately lead to quality and precision made in Switzerland.<\/p>
Taylan Toprak, Head of Sales & Project Management at Connova Group, emphasises that the entire team is very proud to have been selected as one of the main suppliers for this exciting project. “I can tell you that we receive many requests for composite airframes for similar new UAV or drone projects. About Dufour Aerospace<\/strong><\/p>
\u200d\u200dDufour Aerospace develops efficient and ecological aircraft for patient and passenger transport, logistics and public safety. The aircraft currently being developed by Dufour Aerospace are based on the tilt-wing principle. They take off and land vertically in the smallest of spaces like a helicopter, but fly as quickly and economically as an aeroplane. While the propellers are electrically powered, hybrid elements (conventional combustion engines or fuel cells) ensure a sufficiently long range.
