Process development and work preparation - Connova

High-accurate manual work must be prepared well

Once it has been decided what a composite component should look like, it goes into production. Our engineers and process experts develop manufacturing specifications for production from the design specifications. We always have the entire process in mind, which typically includes the following steps:

  • Creating and sorting blanks on the cutter (prepregs or dry semi-finished products)
  • Placing the blanks in laminating moulds or preforms
  • Perform vacuum build-up and leak test
  • Hardening of components under pressure and temperature (autoclave, press, oven, etc.)
  • Demould and remove coarse resin residue
  • Mechanical processing (CNC milling, trimming, drilling, sawing, deburring, etc.)
  • Bonding, joining, assembly, etc.
  • Surface treatment (sanding, painting, polishing, sealing, etc.)
  • Quality control
  • Packaging

All these process steps are worked out and described in detail in advance of production. If necessary, the exact parameters are determined and documented in production trials.

Our services include

  • Create production documents
  • Create production instructions
  • Especially for composite production: creating the so-called plybook
  • Create laser projection data
  • CAM programming and creating set-up sheets
