Vacuum infusion technology

For large components with outstanding material properties

Vacuum infusion is ideal for individual parts with large dimensions and for small batches. The process allows for high quality and perfect surfaces on one side.

The strengths of the infusion procedure:

  • Cost-effective for large components
  • requires little system technology
  • Alto teor de fibras
  • High surface quality

In the infusion process, the dried reinforcement material is placed in a mould coated with release agents. The entire structure is then evacuated and compacted under a film and the matrix is vacuumed in (impregnation). Curing takes place at room temperature and takes several hours. To increase the temperature resistance of the components, they are often post-cured in an oven after demoulding.

The Connova Group has the expertise and resources for the vacuum infusion process:

  • Infusion device
  • Vacuum-tight moulds
  • clean and controlled laminating rooms that prevent external contamination.

The infusion procedure is used:

  • in boatbuilding: boat hulls, superstructures
  • in vehicle construction: panels, driver’s cabs
  • in mechanical engineering: covers, formwork, mould construction
  • in energy technology: blades for wind turbines
